gooeyTEAM (Malve Lippmann & Catriona Shaw) have been addressing the flattened world of screens and digital media use in their work since 2009. Combining workshops, performance, audience interaction and installation, they translate 2D screen-based attributes and activities into lyrical 3D performative spaces and back again. Their award-winning projects have been presented internationally in museums, art centres and festivals.
Catriona Shaw studied at Edinburgh College of Art and the Munich Academy of Fine Arts. Her work often takes the form of collaborative projects with artists and musicians (Spiel 99, Club le Bomb, Queen of Japan) and involve performance, singing, drawings and installation. In 2004 she began performing as ‘Miss le Bomb’, giving rather unhinged concerts often involving audience participation. Her work translates her wry personal observations about daily societal concerns such as animals, death, grapefruit and popular culture. Within a multi-disciplinary practice she experiments with forms of participation. She has performed and exhibited in international venues of varying shapes and sizes including Guggenheim Bilbao, Tate Modern London and an ex-public toilet in Offenbach to name but a few.
